A few everyday phrases and clearly saved travel details can make conversations easier throughout your visit.

Useful Spanish for your Los Cabos visit

You don't need fluent Spanish to make a friendly connection during your Los Cabos visit. A greeting, a thank you and a clear question can help, especially when you have an address, map or booking detail ready to show.

Begin with a greeting

“Hola” means hello. Use “buenos días” for good morning and “buenas tardes” for good afternoon. “Por favor” means please, and “gracias” means thank you.

If someone is speaking too quickly, try “Más despacio, por favor” — more slowly, please. “No entiendo” means I don't understand. You can also ask “¿Habla inglés?” — do you speak English?

Ask a practical question

“¿Cuánto cuesta?” asks how much something costs. Before paying, “¿Son pesos o dólares?” helps clarify the currency. “¿Aceptan tarjeta?” means do you accept cards?

For directions, “¿Dónde está...?” means where is...? Add the name of the place and show the exact address. A property name is more useful than saying only Cabo when your destination could be in either town or along the Corridor.

Confirm the important details

For a reservation, check the meeting point, time and name on the booking. If needed, ask the person to write the information down. Do not depend on a translated phrase alone for an allergy, medical concern or other important requirement.

Save essential information before leaving your accommodation so you can show it even without a connection. A few useful phrases work best alongside clear details and patience.

You do not need to get every word right. A polite greeting and a willingness to listen can make an ordinary exchange more comfortable for everyone.
